What we collect
When you visit a page. Your IP address, browser and language settings, the page you asked for and the site that referred you.
When you click through to an operator. The same, plus which link you used and when.
When you write to us or sign up for the newsletter. Whatever you type into the form.
How long we keep your IP address
Your full IP address is deleted after 30 days.
Beyond that point we keep only two things: a one-way hash that cannot be turned back into your address, and a truncated version that identifies a network rather than a device. Both are used for counting and for spotting automated traffic.
Why we process this
- to run the site and keep it working
- to count visits and clicks, so we can tell partners how much traffic we sent - as totals, never as individual records
- to tell real visitors apart from bots
- to reply to you, if you wrote to us
Who receives it
Operators we link to receive an anonymous identifier for the click, so they can attribute a sign-up. They do not receive your IP address, your email, or anything else about you from us.
Cookies
Covered separately in our cookie policy, including what each category does and how to change your mind.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to processing, and complain to a supervisory authority. Write to [email protected].
Note that after 30 days we genuinely cannot connect stored data back to you - which also means we cannot single it out to delete it.
